John C. Hartranft is of Counsel to in the Columbus office of Porter, Wright, Morris & Arthur, L.L.P. He practices primarily in the areas of financial institutions, insolvency and commercial ligation with a developing interest in commercial alternative dispute resolution. He has taught Articles 3 and 4 of the Uniform Commercial Code and Bankruptcy courses at the law school level. Mr. Hartranft served as Chair of the Banking, Commercial Law and Bankruptcy Committee of the Ohio State Bar Association, 1979-1981, and frequently testifies before the Ohio General Assembly on behalf of the Ohio State Bar Association on commercial and UCC issues. He served as president of the Columbus Bar Association 1999-2000. A graduate of Harvard College and the University of Michigan Law School, Mr. Hartranft is listed in The Best Lawyers in America and Who’s Who.
