Carla N. Murphy, Esq.  received a B.A. from Lafayette College, graduating summa cum laude, and also with departmental honors from Lafayette’s Department of Economics/Business. During her college term she spent time abroad and studied at the London School of Economics. Ms. Murphy received her J.D. from the University of Maryland, School of Law, with honor, and interned with the Honorable Susan K. Gauvey of the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland during her law school tenure. Since that time, Ms. Murphy was a member of Ober|Kaler’s Litigation and Employment & Labor practice groups and she is now a partner at Duane Morris, an Amlaw 100 law firm with more than 700 attorneys in offices across the United States and internationally. Ms. Murphy represents employers in wrongful discharge claims, discrimination claims, wage/hour and benefit disputes, employee contract and compensation disputes, defamation and invasion of privacy claims, and covenants against competition and other business related torts. Ms. Murphy also offers litigation avoidance advice to employers encouraging the development of employment policies and agreements, including employee handbooks, arbitration agreements, non-competition and trade secret agreements, and employment contracts. Ms. Murphy is past President of the Arc Baltimore and has also served as a hearing officer for the Baltimore City Civil Service Commission.
