I recently purchased the HIPAA program produced by
Data Trace and written by Kevin West, Esq. (author of the APMA HIPAA
manual) and Marc Cohen, Esq. I found this program to be extremely
easy to use and complete. I was at a HIPAA conference in Fredericksburg,
Virginia and this program was also endorsed by the speaker, Richard
W. Boone, Esq. I thought the membership of your list-serv should
know about this program. A Podiatrist owns Data Trace and we should
support our own. I believe there is a 10% discount for both PICA
and OUM policyholders. I am not associated with Data Trace nor am
I receiving remuneration for my
endorsement.

I've spent some time this week using the Data Trace
product, which is called: The HIPAA Compliance Program: Training
Forms and Policies. It's very cool and extremely well done. It first
does a pre-test to assess your level of HIPAA awareness. It then
takes you through a series of lessons, focusing only on the main
points that we need to know to bring our offices up to HIPAA compliance.
The program then lets you print out the customized forms and documents
that you are required to display and have your patients sign. It's
one easy to use program for making your office HIPAA compliant.
I've had my doctor friends tell me that they paid anywhere from
$600-$2000 to have a consultant set them up for HIPAA compliance.
The Data Trace program is $295 or $265 for PICA or OUM policyholders...well
worth it.

I am writing to tell you how pleased we have
been with your HIPAA compliance software. The forms section comprises
a wonderful set of documents requiring only the addition of letterhead
for personalization and use. The availability of both PDF and Word
formats is very thoughtful. The educational section is convenient
and has the appropriate level of detail. I had looked at other off
the shelf products and found none to compare. A terrific bargain
for under $300.
