Educational Objectives:
After completing this activity the participant will:
- Recognize allegations made against podiatrists in insurance claims, identify ways to avoid these allegations, and plan what to do if a claim has already been filed;
- Obtain current information on how to protect his practice in some common, but potentially threatening, situations;
- Understand a lawsuit and be better able to deal with the stress of a lawsuit;
- Utilize communication skills to prevent malpractice lawsuits; and
- Provide a comprehensive evaluation of malignant melanoma of the foot and identify do's and don'ts of specimen handling.
