Educational Objectives:
After completing this activity the participant will:
- Recognize allegations made against chiropractors in insurance claims, identify ways to avoid these allegations, and plan what to do if a claim has already been filed;
- Obtain current information on how to protect his practice in some common, but potentially threatening, situations;
- Understand and be better able to deal with the stress of a lawsuit;
- Utilize communication skills to prevent malpractice lawsuits; and
- Increase physicians' awareness of breakdowns in communication between doctor, patient and staff, to identify the sources of breakdowns, and identify ways to reduce the frequency of breakdowns.
